King Janaka tells the story of how Siva's bow came into his possession. He has sworn that any prince who is able to string the bow can marry his daughter Sita. In the scene on the top left Sita is found by the king when he is ploughing the earth, and she grows up as his daughter. Image taken from Ramayana, Bala Kanda.
