A street map of Cambridge
This colourful street map of 16th century Cambridge includes landmarks such as Pembroke Hall, 'Peterhowse,' 'Trumpington Steate', 'Kinges Colledge', 'Trinitie Halle' 'Penny farthing lane' and 'market lane'. Around the edges of the medieval town sheep, horses, cows and a wild boar frolick and graze. This map is from De antiquitate Cantebrigiensis Academi: libri duo (John Day: London, 1574). C.24.a.27
