A plan of the Tower of London
The title of this map or plan reads: A True and Exact Draught of the Tower Liberties, survey'd in the Year 1597 by Gulielmus Halward and J. Gascoyne. The caption towards the top left reads: The description of the Tower of London with all the Buildings & the Remains of ye Royal Palace; and the Outermost Limits thereof together with all such Palces adjoyning as do confine and abound the said Liberties, made by the Direction of Sr John Peynton Kt. On the left of the map of the Tower of London is a description of the Tower and its boundaries. This map was originally published in London by Sumptibus Societatis Antiquariae Lond in 1742.
