Hanuman finds Sita
Hanuman finds Sita on the island of Lanka, guarded by female demons. Hanuman is pictured here perched in a tree, he sees ten-headed Ravana arrive with female attendants and beg Sita to marry him. She refuses and Ravana threatens to kill her unless she reconsiders. Image taken from Ramayana. This copy of the Ramayana was commissioned by Rana Jagat Singh of Mewar in Rajashan between 1649 and 1653.
