Rama and his brothers reunited
Rama's brothers Bharata and Satrughna are delighted to see Rama again. Bharata urges Rama to return to govern the kingdom following the death of their father, Dasaratha, but Rama replies that he must honour his father's commands and remain in exile until the 14 years are up. In the bottom right hand corner the three exiles, Rama, Sita and Laksmana make the a ritual offering. From Ramayana, Ayodhya Kanda. This copy of the Ramayana was commissioned by Rana Jagat Singh of Mewar in Rajashan between 1649 and 1653.
