Illustrations of scenes and characters from the the Gothic novel, the Monk, written by Matthew Gregory Lewis. It depicts the death of Baptiste, Raymond and Agnes being discovered by the Aunt, The Bleeding Nun appearing to Raymond, and Agnes and her child in the dungeon.
