A beuatiful illustration of the yellow-bellied Pelargopsis Capensis, or Stork-Billed Kingfisher. The image is taken from an album of 51 drawings of birds and mammals made at Bencoolen, Sumatra, for Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore, in 1824. The album is part of the British Library's collections.
