The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle
Entries in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle for the years 991 to 993. The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle was originally produced in England in Abingdon in the 11th and 12th centuries. It is the earliest known history of England written in the English language and was thought to have been compiled at the behest of King Alfred.
