The burial of King John
The burial of King John in 1216, from the Continuation of the verse chronicle of Master Wace (England, 14th century). Two men carry the coffin as they approach the gates to the city of Worcester and the cathedral. The accompanying poem is written in Anglo-Norman French. British Library Egerton MS 3028, f. 61r.
