The Gospel of St John, Tyndale New Testament
The first page of St John's Gospel in the Tyndale New Testament. This was the first Bible in the English language to be widely distributed in print. The Bishop of London refused Tyndale permission for it to be printed, so it was printed in Worms, Germany in 1526. This is one of the three known copies to survive.
